From Rolling Stone:

Trey Anastasio Hints at Phish Reunion

Nearly four years after their break-up, the four members of Phish may have some unfinished business together. In an interview with Rolling Stone last week, Trey Anastasio didn’t exactly say the band has talked about a reunion, but he did drop some heavy hints. “When Phish broke up, I made some comment about how I’m not gonna go around playing ‘You Enjoy Myself’ for the rest of my life,” Anastasio said with a laugh. “And it’s so funny because Fish and Mike and Page have been talking to each other a lot lately and now — it’s not that I can’t believe that I said that, but its symbolic of how much I lost my mind or how much I lost my bearings or something. Because at this point in time I would give my left nut to play that song five times in a row every day until I die. I certainly thought about that while I was in jail.”

Anastasio spoke to RS on May 21st, the same day he received some good news: He was sentenced to probation on charges of possessing painkillers without a prescription, which had been reduced to a misdemeanor after he completed a drug treatment program. Earlier in May, Anastasio and the other members of Phish stood onstage together in New York to accept a lifetime achievement award at the Jammies.

long overdue

...and glad to be home.

We're finally getting our heads on straight and timezones in order after the cross-country saga that was the past two weeks. To briefly recap: Sadie and I flew from Bend to San Francisco to Philly, where we stayed for 7 days. Leg two of the trip started out of Allentown and continued through Chicago to Lincoln to Colorado Springs, where Reid joined us for his brother's graduation festivities. On Sunday, we puddle-jumped from Colorado Springs to Salt Lake City and back to Bend, just in time for the Modest Mouse show on Sunday night.

On Monday, we didn't leave the couch.

There are hundreds of pictures waiting to be downloaded. Stay tuned!

bipeds

As of about two weeks ago, Sophie became a full-time walker. That means the three best friends are now officially upright and mobile. Let the madness begin!

mother's day

We had a loooooooooooooooovely Mother's Day here in Bend---went out to breakfast, played at the park, bought Sadie (yet another) new pair of shoes, had friends over for margaritas, cooked Sibila's mom's homemade gnocchi (a birthday present to me!), watched the Flyers game, and just generally had a wonderful relaxing (if not action-packed) day. The only thing we didn't get to do was go on a bike ride. It just won't seem to warm up here: it was sunny, but cold, and reportedly starting snowing for a few minutes in the late afternoon. I'm so over it! Wouldn't you know it's supposed to be 90 here this week...but I'll be in Pennsylvania where they're calling for 50 degrees and rain for the next seven days. No fair!

In any case, the weather couldn't put a damper on our great day. One of the highlights? Opening Sadie's present that she made for me at daycare---she even made the wrapping paper!

Because I don't take great photos, but she does...

just a trim

Since the day Sadie was born, people have been asking us when we were going to get her hair cut. I'm not sure why they thought it was so necessary, or why we were so opposed to it. The only thing we did know is that we would wait until she was at least a year old, and figure it out from there.

I guess we decided it was sufficiently scraggly enough to warrant a trim, because yesterday when Reid went to the salon, Sadie got her turn in the chair as well:

She seemed to find the whole thing rather amusing, and didn't fuss or cry a bit. One could even go so far as to say she held "still" for Lori, the family stylist.

What you don't see in these pictures is me, bribing her with a constant stream of dried fruit snacks:

Hey, whatever it takes!
All told, she didn't get more than half-an-inch off all around, but it's definitely looking much healthier. What next? A pedicure?

sabotage!

Since my adorably cute seven-months-pregnant sister won't post any belly pictures on HER blog, I decided to sabotage her and post them here, instead.

Sometimes it's difficult to live on opposite coasts from the rest of your family---this is one of those times. I'll be going to Pennsylvania in two weeks for her baby shower, and it will be the first time I've seen her (and her growing belly) since November.

I wish Sadie and her soon-to-be baby boy cousin could grow up together, but they are east-coasters and we are west-coasters, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Perhaps some family vacations where we 'meet in the middle' are in the cards...but where is that? Kansas City, Missouri?

Well, at least they have good BBQ there.
Congratulations Melissa and Ted, I can't WAIT to see you guys!
